Female Bomber In Diyala Was Really A Man

The Los Angeles Times reports that the suicide attack against Diyala’s provincial governor yesterday, August 12, was actually carried out by a man, not a woman as initially reported. The suicide bomber was a man dressed as a woman to allow him to elude security. The attempt failed as the insurgent attracted the attention of soldiers along the road the governor was traveling, and he was forced to set off his bomb. Two civilians were killed and nine injured in the blast according to Iraqi officials. Only one person was killed according to Americans.
